Rahne was a member of her church choir from the time she was quite small. Her singing voice is developed nicely, as she had little other recreation to put her time and energy into. She could do well as a soloist, but for her stage-fright.
Spending so long skulking about the fringes of civilization has taught Rahne a thing or two about stealth, and even in her pre-mutant life, being unnoticed was something to be strived for. Even in human form, she can manage to slip past untrained people who are paying attention, and would probably manage one out of four times getting past someone trained on sentry duty. This skill applies only to moving about quietly; she knows nothing of breaking and entering, or any other type of stealth that would apply only in the civilized world.
From the time she was old enough to stand on a chair and stir a pot, Rahne had been in charge of making the meals for herself and the reverend. She's a good cook and can make a lot out of a little. Her style is very old-fashioned, and her dishes never get too experimental. She tends mostly towards basic recipies she picked up from the ladies at church; stews, soups, meat and gravy, meat pies - that sort of thing. Generally a bit on the cholesterol-heavy side, they're still fairly healthy, taste-good, and are filling.
She enjoys cooking, what's more, and so she takes an interest in it. She wouldn't mind learning more, if the opportunity were ever to arise.
Clothing wasn't something she got every day growing up, and so she quickly became good with a needle and thread. Her specialty is doing repairs, but she can also make simple clothes when the situation calls for it, though this takes some time, since she works by hand, never having the chance to use a sewing machine before. Her abilities here are solely practical, although with some work and experimentation, she could branch out to doing more aesthetic work. As is, they come in handy in her job, for she offers simple repairs on the side, for a small fee (eg. hemming, darning, replacing buttons). It's not really where her heart lies, but she finds it handy and enjoys doing it well enough.
As the one in charge of keeping house during her childhood, Rahne's also quite proficient in all facets of housework. She knows what combination of ingredients will get wine out of the cream carpet, and what to use to get blood out of a wool sweater. She can do windows, floors, ironing, dusting - all manner of day-to-day upkeep. And moreover, she doesn't so much mind doing them.
Growing up in a very tradition-heavy backwoods Scottish town, Rahne's picked up a decent spattering of Gaelic. She's not quite fluent in it, but she could manage to keep up a simple dialogue. Of course, there's not much call for her to use it, since there are few left who can speak only Scots Gaelic and no English.
Rahne loves baking all sorts of sweet treats and breads, although this was actually frowned upon by Craig who thought such things were too indulgent. Still, despite his misgivings, she's managed to become quite good at this particular task, and can bake all manner of delicious homemade deserts and breads. Fruit pies, in particular, are her specialty, and the reverend would sometimes let her make these for church sales.
Rahne seemed to have an inclination towards reading and writing fiction even from an early age, but this was discouraged by the reverend for being fantastical. Beyond what was required for school, Rahne was never allowed to exercise this talent. However, she had quite some time to kill on her boat ride across the ocean, and has begun to pick it up again, after 'borrowing' a few books and scraps of paper from the crew aboard. Despite her lack of education, she can write rather well, although her spelling and grammar is rough at best. Her vocabulary is limited currently, as well, although she's slowly increasing it by reading whatever she can get her hands on at present.

As Rahne changes forms, her personality takes on a change as well. In human form, as she is most often, she is the meek, quiet girl who was raised to be seen and not heard deep within the fold of a cult-like church.
In her transitional form, much of the damage that was done to her psyche can be better seen. She becomes slightly more aggressive, self-deprecating, out-spoken, and almost daredevil-ish; still, compared to most, she's still considerably quiet and polite - it is only in comparison with her human personality that any change can really be noted. In her wolf form, she's at her most natural - able to get in touch with her own feelings and having little need to keep them hidden behind shyness or brazenness, since none can understand her anyway. One of the major building blocks of Rahne's childhood was the church. And a very fundamental church at that. She believes in God, knows the Bible, wears a cross, and says her prayers before bed. While her devotion has worn off somewhat now that she's free of the domineering church and Reverend Craig, she still is very devoted to her religion, and feels guilty that she does not attend church anymore.
In transitional form, some of this is repressed, and she becomes more willing to speak up about her issues with the church, and may even use a blasphemous word or two when upset. Still, her basic feelings remain largely the same, just buried under her more hardened exterior. In wolf form, her level of belief is largely inconsequential, but lies nearer to her human feelings than her transitional feelings.Rahne is nothing if not shy and quiet. She isn't one to share her emotions overly, nor does she speak to strangers if she can help it. When in a situation with people she does not know, she tends to blush a lot, and stammer. Doubly so if they're of the opposite sex.
In half-lupine form, she becomes a little more outspoken, although she still tends to fade into the background if given the choice. At least, in this case, if someone talks to her, she can manage an easy response in reply, and keeps from getting so tongue-tied. Sadly, she's still no good around the lads. In full wolf form, she cannot talk, and generally avoids human contact when she can, unless she's certain the human in question won't be a threat.A job worth doing is a job worth doing well, so Rahne believes. She devotes herself fully to the task at hand, and does it to the best of her abilities for no other reason than that's how she believes it should be done. She's not one to cut corners or sweep the dirt under the rug. Just because no one can see it doesn't mean it doesn't need doing.
Even in half-wolf and full-wolf forms, Rahne is dedicated to any task she takes upon herself, and sticks with it until it gets done. In her transitional state, she may be a bit more willing to complain about it, but she'll still see it through.By choice and circumstance, Rahne is isolated from the rest of society. She doesn't hang out with her colleagues outside of work; she doesn't spend her evenings out at the clubs; she doesn't join teams or try hard to make friends. To Rahne, being alone is all she's known. She's not rude, but she's also not very open. She offers only what she must in conversation, and quickly retreats to her corner as soon as she's given the opportunity.
Rahne has gotten very good at taking care of herself by now. Even when she was technically under the care of Craig, she had only herself to rely on. Now free of him, she enjoys providing for herself, and likes to work and bring home a pay-cheque and know she earned these things for herself.
Although Rahne is certainly not the most open person around, she's rather good at listening to others, when she does find herself in their company. More than just preferring not to talk, she really does like hearing what they have to say, and is sympathetic to most anyone's plight.
Rahne works full-time at the small dry-cleaners, earning only a few dollars an hour. Still, it's a regular paycheque, so she can always rely on that money coming in every two weeks. As well, she takes in some money on the side for doing small sewing jobs for the clientele, such as hemming, repairing, and darning.
As part of her employment at the dry-cleaners, Rahne also gets to live in the tiny, run-down apartment above. It's a cramped one bedroom place with a bathtub in the kitchen and plywood over broken windows, but it's still a place to call home.
Rahne's never had a chance to really try out anything technological, even something as simple as a television. Craig never believed in such things, and she's never yet been in a position to get one for herself. She has seen most common technology, and knows what they are, but she's rather lost as to how they actually work and the real details in what they do.
